YES. You can join the club anytime and the membership fee will be reduced pro-rata, you will be charged for the remaining period of the membership.
12 months membership at Prestwood Tennis Club runs from 1st of April – 31st of March following year.
YES, you can sign you child up to the course anytime.
The Junior Programme runs during the school term times.
Absolutely. You don’t need experience or equipment to join the course. Your child will learn all the skills in a friendly, fun environment and we can always provide your child with a spare racket.
NO, our adult classes are drop in sessions and not termly courses. You don’t need to commit to every session every week. Classes run weekly and operate on pre-paid basis however you can feel free to use the pre-paid sessions anytime you are available to play.
Don’t worry, get in touch with us and we’ll schedule a free introductory lesson for you with the club head coach. The coach will advise you which class would be the best for you to join based on your current ability.
We use an online booking system created by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). Click on the Court Booking button at the top of the page. You will need to be signed in using your LTA account.
You can book up to a month in advance for a maximum of two hours per session.
There’s a seating area, tables and hot drinks (coffee and tea on an honesty box system). We also have a big-screen TV to entertain youngsters or show live tennis. Toilets and showers are available in the neighbouring building, Sprinters Leisure Centre.
It’s open during all coaching sessions, and members can open it themselves by use of a shared key.
Yes, although competition is fierce! We play in a variety of local leagues, including women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed. It’s a meritocracy, so if you’re good enough you’ll play. Final squad selections are down to the league captains, with input from our head coach.
Rather than have a league system or ladders, we encourage all members to play competitively – whatever their standard – in our regular Sunday matchplay. Check out our events listing for dates.
We play in one men’s singles league and are always keen to find new singles players of both sexes. We’re also active supporters of the Local Tennis Leagues, with Prestwood players having won the league several times over the past few years.
Weekdays from 8am to 10pm (8pm on Fridays), weekends 8am to 6pm. Note that we share a car park with the local sports centre, Sprinters Leisure Centre.
Court 1 and Court 2 can stay on until 10pm on weekdays (8pm on Friday), while Court 3 can stay on until 9pm on weekdays. On Saturday, all courts’ floodlights can stay on until 6pm. On Sunday, no floodlights are allowed.
